Minto Summer Skate offered a small preview of some of the match-ups to come in Canadian ice dance this season. National junior silver medalists Mackenzie Bent & Garrett Mackeen captured a win in the short dance with a score of 57.65, though reportedly withdrew from the free dance. New team Brianna Delmaestro & Timothy Lum (48.16) took second place in the short segment, with 2012 novice champs Lauren Collins & Danny Seymour (45.74) rounding out the top three. With a score of 55.82, the senior short dance went to Kharis Ralph & Asher Hill in their first outing since Canadian Nationals; Nicole Orford & Thomas Williams (52.12) placed second in their third competitive performance of a short week, with the Finnish team of Henna Lindholm & Ossi Kanervo (48.09) taking the third spot and incoming seniors Victoria & Connor Hasegawa (45.94) finishing close behind in fourth.
