ISU Announces Technical Minimums for 2013-14

The ISU released Communication No. 1797 today, establishing the TES minimums for qualification to this year’s ISU Championships and the Sochi Olympics. The minimums for pairs at most events have remained unchanged from last season, but have been lowered for the World Championships from the 28.00 (SP)/45.00 (LP) required in 2012-13. In ice dance, the minimums for the World Junior Championships have been slightly raised from an initial 17.00 (SD)/27.00 (FD) requirement, while those for the World Championships have, conversely, been lowered by a point each from 29.00 (SD)/39.00 (FD), a short dance minimum that many previously-qualified teams found difficult to meet.
